¡Qué día tan increíble! Our Spanish Dual Credit class experienced the vibrant Hispania Flamenco Ballet Dance Company show at the Mitchell Fine Arts Center on the Transylvania University campus.
The performance provided students with a unique opportunity to not only observe and understand the distinctions between Spanish-speaking country dances, but also a comprehensive survey of Spanish culture as seen through the performing arts.
They had the opportunity to enjoy and listen to music including a live Spanish band on stage, see colorful costumes, and traditions come to life beyond the classroom! Several of our students even volunteered to participate in interactive dance and performance activities on stage in front of the entire audience!
They ended their field trip by enjoying food from a local Cuban restaurant, Old San Juan, and then stopped for an helado (ice cream) at Cold Stone!
We are so grateful for this opportunity and for the beautiful memories our students made!
Learning Spanish is so much more than learning a language, it’s discovering the keys to a global passport of vibrant music, rich history, and living traditions across more than 21 countries!
